Doctors in Australia were showing concern tonight, as they gathered around the bedside of the X-Factor judge Dannii Minogue after she had earlier given birth - to a jackal!
Minogue, 38, the singer, actress, model and TV personality who has never had a real job, gave birth normally, but medical staff became alarmed when they tried to discern the sex of the 'baby'.
Minogue's boyfriend Kris Smith was also at her bedside, and was said to be concerned, though not surprised at the number of legs his offspring had.
Jackals are well-known as scavengers, and it might reasonably be considered that Dannii has 'scavenged' off the name of her rather more famous - and talented - sister, Kylie.
The couple have decided to call their baby Damien, though neither of them know quite why.
"It's as if we are been compelled to call him that!", laughed Dannii.
