Those of you that are fans of the show that appeared on FOX for a few years before being dropped can now look forward to seeing the show again, this time on Comedy Central which has committed to 26 half-hour episodes.
Of course, at the end of their run on FOX, they were all dead.
However, that never kept Spock down so it apparently it also hasn't here.
All the characters are back and all the voices says a Comedy Central spokesman. Howard Cohen says the series will have a great plot overall and some really funny situations.
"We can actually do more with this than FOX ever could so we've turned the wackos loose. If you liked the original episodes, you should be nuts about these. In fact, you'd have to be nuts to watch it in the first place."
"Futurama" was created by Matt Groening (Simpsons) and developed with Joshua King, an executive producer. A few months ago, King was presiding over his cast of voice artists in a plushly soundproofed Hollywood studio as they recorded the dialogue for a future episode.
Meanwhile, Dick Cheney, who does Mr. Burns on The Simpsons, may stray over to Futurama.
