Peter Jackson now says that he will direct "The Hobbit" movie that's in the works, because Guillermo del Toro has exited and so have some others, including Gary Coleman who was to be in the movie.
"This will be a Hobbit movie like none of the rest", stated the Academy Award-Winning director. "Now that I have a free hand to make it into something people won't forget."
Jackson, who says he's under contract to do two more movies first, says he might be able to squeeze out or delay the other two so he can get to work on The Hobbit. He has done that before.
Now that del Toro has moved on, the pieces are coming into place, according to Jackson, to triumphantly return to Middle Earth and turn "The Hobbit" into the blockbuster that it deserves to be.
"Tolkien wrote a masterpiece and this needs a more adult view, not human cartoons", the director told reporters today.
