Memphis - (OMG!) The sudden, unexpected death in his sleeep of garage rock nihilist Jimmy Lee Lindsay - aka Jay Reatard - has finally upstaged Tila Tequila's manic twitterings.
The musician died mysteriously at home in Memphis on Wednesday - with none of the reported lesbian shenanigans associated with Ms Tequila's tragic fiancee Casey Johnson.
Few details have emerged about the exact circumstances of Reatard's demise.
Like pharma heiress Johnson (30) and Brittany Murphy (32) earlier, he was young and had his whole life ahead of him.
So far no wacky girlfriends/lovers have taken over the publicity machine surrounding his death.
And no adopted Kazakh children nor any gold digger relatives are yet in the frame for a slice of his fortune.
Lindsay leaves behind an impressive discography from his work with The Reatards, The Lost Sounds, Bad Times, The Final Solutions, Nervous Patterns, Angry Angles, Terror Visions and Destruction Unit.
A spokesman at LA FagHagSlagMag.com said this morning he'd once dabbled with the occult during his Matanuska Thunderfuck smoking days.
