Joaquin, you have some competition. In a radio appearance reminiscent of David's Letterman's interview of Joaquin Phoenix who went nuts and finally ran into the audience, Billy Bob Thornton gave a puzzling and difficult interview Wednesday night in Canada.
Appearing on CBC radio, the Canadian public broadcaster, Thornton evaded simple questions and criticized the host for mentioning that he was a movie actor and screenwriter, saying that he was a mime.
Then he wouldn't answer questions for a few minutes.
Thornton appeared on the show with his band, the Boxmasters, who are currently on tour with Willie Nelson and Neil Young.
When the host, Jian Ghomeshi, asked Thornton when the band formed, Thornton said, "I don't know what you're talking about. Formed what?"
Thornton mostly gave monosyllabic answers and stated that the biggest influence in his life was the Shakespearean actor, Karl Childers Ummm Hmm!" and answered the rest of the interview using Karl's voice. Stating once that he was right handy with a karaoke machine he reckoned.
