Fantasia Barrino and Diana DeGarmo have joined Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken in forming the supergroup The Four Idols.
The four singers are very excited about the prospect of singing together for the very first time. Said DeGarmo: "Oh my gosh, this is so great! Me and Fantasia will be in the same group as Ruben and Clay."
Barrino added: "Obviously, Ruben and Clay have become the perfect role models for us, and we managed to set the bar even higher. I know, I didn't think we could top them either."
Studdard and Aiken were interviewed together for the first time since the second season finale. Aiken explained: "I'm very happy for Fantasia. Now that she's the newest Idol, I no longer have to wish that it was me who won instead." And Studdard had this to say: "Fantasia and Diana, they are like sisters to me. I'm looking for a lot of big things from them both."
Because DeGarmo and Barrino will be touring this summer with the other finalists from Season Three, the quartet cannot begin recording until the tour has ended. However, all four are still excited about beginning a new chapter together.
