The bath that three old codgers rode down a hill in in the Sit-com Last of the Summer Wine is to be sold of at auction.
The bath, as iconoclastic a vehicle as the Batmobile, Del Boy's Robin Reliant and the Pope Mobile is said to be worth very little, except for scrap. It has a top speed of 3 miles on the straight, and 15 miles downhill, but the brakes no longer work properly.
Last of the Summer Wine's oldest surviving member, Peter Sallis, who plays Cleggy said: 'Ah, Lad, this is a sad day for us auld folk. In getting rid of Betty the Bath, it is like they are selling of another part of an irreplace relic from out past'
The Voice of Wallace soon cheered up when we asked for an impression: 'What do you mean you don't like Cheese? Not even Wensleydale? Are you looking at me? Are you looking at me, cause I don't see anyone else here' he said.
