Lassie, beloved star of the world of canine films is to team up with Derek Acorah for a new series called 'Claire Voyance - Dog Detective'.

Accorah, famed for his appearances in 'Most Probably not haunted', 'The Cat that ate Jeremy Kyle', and 'Vanessa Feltz -Why?', will play the geeky love interest on Claire Voyance -Dog Detective.

The cross genre panopoly of entertainment starts filming in Vancouver next week, with filming scheduled to finish in April 2008.

The series sees Clair Voyance, who has recently been shot in her line of Police-work re-incarnated in the form of Lassie, a dog that takes an interest in Accorah. Mysteries solved will include Timmy being shut down in a mine, and the mystery of what dog food actually tastes like. Lassie will be voiced by either Rosie O'Donnell, Roseanne Barr, or Hilary Clinton, depending on budget and schedule.

Derek Accorah told us: 'Claire Voyance - Dog Detective seemed like a good idea. When I saw Turner and Hooch with Tom Hanks, it just seemed like sch a good idea to me, but I thought what if Hooch was the re-incarnation of one of Hank's previous lovers or friends. I felt it was a theme that need more exploration'.

We did not mention to Derek Acorrah that K9 with Jim Belushi had been made already, or that Belushi had already turned down the chance to appear in Claire Voyance - Dog Detective.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
