Lazarides Gallery, Greek Street, Soho - (Ass Mess): A new, unauthorised portrait of George W Bush has been unveiled at a smart Soho gallery in central London today depicting the mobster politician as even more sinister than anybody's wildest imaginings.
The picture is made entirely from a collage of porn mags "and literally oozes bodily fluids" according to one Grouch Club reviewer who saw it at the Lazarides Gallery launch today:
"I think the artist is taking the piss," Julio Smorgasboard told press reporters gathered at the exhibition party this evening.
The artist, portrait painter Jonathan Yeo, was originally commissioned to paint a major, posed portrait of the 43rd American president by the President George Bush Senior Library in Texas in 2004.
"it was a done deal," Yeo recalled today, "and I was just about to drop several other commissioned projects and haul my ass all the way to Crawford, Texas when the Americans stopped returning my calls.
"Don't ask me why. Maybe somebody just pooped?"
"So I though 'Hell', and decided to get on with it anyway and this is the final result today," Yeo said beaming proudly as crods thronged to see the likeness, composed entirely of pseudo-erotic poses and an awful lot of hard-core mag clippings.
The 12ft x 20 ft portrait is hanging at renowned UK artist Banksy's home gallery in Greek Street and has the kind of Wow! factor tpo stop pedestrians in their tracks and gape at the ominous linkeness smouldering in the window.
"I don't think we'll be getting the US ambasssador to London here to admire it somehow," a gallery source said today.
"Anyway we've had to up the insurance cover since the picture went on display because there are an awful lot of GOP wingnuts still holidaying in London who might like to torck the portrait of their beloved asshole leader," the source added.
