You can keep your money............

Beloved Sesame Street characters Bert and Ernie were today arrested, facing charges for corruption, bought against them by Beaker from the Muppets.

The three, who had at one time been flat-mates fell out when Bert started selling the secrets of their debauched lifestyle to National Enquirer. When Ernie found this out, he also dug up dirt on the National Enquirer reporter, so for years, he was paying money to Ernie, who was giving it to Bert. When the man left the National Enquirer, a broken and bitter man, he approached Beaker for help. Of course, Beaker, a man of strong principles, learnt from Professor Bunsen, had nothing to do with it, and with a heavy heart, told the police all he knew.

Sam the Bald Eagle gave a statement to the Press: 'This has all come as a great shock to us all, as you can probably imagine. We all thought the boys as we all call them had an active social life, but we had no idea how active, the things we heard would make a nun blush. But, I don't want to add to the tittle tattle, so I won't'

There were flags at half mast by Oscar the Grouch's dustbin, and outside Big Birds house, and work shy theatre critics Statler and Waldorf said: 'Is it all over now? Can we come home yet?'

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
