Japan - (Ass Mess): The Sony Corporation has been accused of sickening opportunism and regressing back to the Stone Age to promote its PlayStation2 God Of War II by using a freshly slaughtered goat in its launch promo.
UK press reports have branded the move as depraved and claimed that launch show invitees were "invited to reach inside the goat's still-warm carcass to eat offal from its stomach" instead of being offered the traditional raw fish delicacy of Shushi.
But Sony executives have hit back saying that the portrayal of evisceration was no more or less disgusting than, say, the famous Nicholas Poussain oil painting of The Martyrdom of St Erasmus, or his depictions of the Nurture of Jupiter and The Capture of Jerusalem by Titus.
These depict human as well as animal torture and slaughter and are recognised today as Great Works of Art.
"These paintings involve sickening sacrifice typical of the God Of War II themes that are prevalent in Old as well as New Testament writings and are honored by the great masters in works of art. So why shouldn't we do ur own 21st century version?
"We apologise to anybody who might have been offended by the tacky promo. We were just following the famous art genre themes associated with our new product."
However that bastion of animal rights, Heather Mills, has now jumped on the bandawgon to slam the 'evil mindless slaughter' as a sickos' sideshow that should be banned.
"Dead and dying animals shouldn't be used as entertainment," Mills said today.
