Burbank (CA) - The Attorneys representing Nicole Richie are suing Garmin, the manufacturers of the Global Positioning System (GPS) that had apparently malfunctioned in her black sport utility G-Class Mercedes on that fateful morning she was wrongfully arrested. The arrest followed a 911 call reporting a car, matching Richie's, which was going the wrong way on the freeway.
Nicole Richie's attorneys have pleaded their case before a judge, stating the failed navigation equipment was to blame, not her driving skills.
After receiving bail Nicole Richie gave a short comment, "How is a girl to know? I was like driving and suddenly my GPS just died on me on the freeway, I went like crazy and panicked at the same time because I was kinda lost, and suddenly every one was diving towards me", stated a shaken Richie.
When asked, why she was on the cell phone whilst in a moving vehicle? "I was lost, so I called 911 for directions and thank god they came to my rescue - but they arrested me instead", she responded with bewilderment.
