In a sensational development The Spoof can reveal that BBC may be about to axe long-time children's favourite Blue Peter.
Head of Kiddie's Programmes Jocasta Borgia, the new broom at TV Centre, is reported to want to make a clean sweep and to blow away the cobwebs, with the result that the firm favourite and children's hour stalwart looks set to be the biggest casualty in the shake up.
Borgia told us:
"The Blue Peter formula is getting tired and there is only so much that can be made from an old washing up liquid bottle and sticky backed plastic"
But some of the show's ex-presenters won't take the changes lying down and are hitting back. Mad as a brush Northerner, John Noakes, commented "Oh no! Ha ha ha! Get down Shep!"
And Peter Purves, Noakes's long-term co-presenter said: "Watch again on Thursday when we will start making an advent crown from two coat hangers and a few bits of tinsel"
Val Singleton told The Spoof:
"When that bloody elephant shit all over the place I was disgusted. The filthy beast!"
A final decision will be made soon and when it is made then we will know what the outcome will be, and if the programme will survive or not.
