Just before noon today a Kensington parking attendant Dermot Singh issued Esther Rantzen's teeth with a parking ticket, when he spotted the said gnashers causing an obstruction in Kensington High Street.
"The lady's car was not in contravention of the parking laws," Mr Singh explained. "But she was leaning out of the car window peering into Aldi's shop window and her teeth were effectively blocking the pavement. She even scraped the roof of a passing motability scooter."
But the TV personality was apparently unfazed by the incident.
"Ms Rantzen was very nice." Mr Singh said. "She even insisted on posing with the ticket stuck on her teeth when I snapped my photographic evidence. She is really lovely, I adore her accent, and I told her I always used to watch her on "Surprise Surprise."
"Might I just add being a council official I am prohibited from taking bribes to ignore parking violations. So don't try to bribe me with cash, credit card or paypal payments.
"I'll just repeat that, bribe me with cash, debit, credit card, or paypal payments."
