London - The 'Weird Weekends' broadcaster honed his unique satirical slant with a three-year series of documentaries on US marginal subcultures.
His 1998-2000 smash-hit TV series took on American religious snake-charmers, assorted survivalists, black nationalists, white supremacists, porn stars and the morbidly obese.
Today he was the focus of continuing UK Red Top weekend headline claims that 'he was about to get hitched to US movie actress Jennifer Aniston'.
"That would be one 'weirdness' too far, heheh," PR guru Bunty Ferret commented.
"As far as I know Louie is already happily married to British TV director Nancy Strang," Ferret added.
"And none of his 'Weird Weekend' documentaries included the Cult of Jennifer Aniston," Ferret continued, "although all that could change in the future, of course."
Notable among Theroux's successful 'scalps' is a 1990s documentary he made about a US road trip with Glib-Dem leader/UK Deputy Prime Monster Nick Clegg.
His subsequent 2007 masterpiece 'The Most Hated Family in America' may now serve as the blueprint for an updated 2012 version - focusing on the Clegg-Cameron coalition alliance.
Brad Pitt is 69.
