London - A spectral image that suddenly materialised on the Delancey Street Kebab Taverna window was a dead ringer for the Babyshambles musician proprietor Costas Kleftiko said today.
The Camden takeaway is host to an unofficial shrine to deceased singer Amy Winehouse whose patronage of after-hours munching put the NW1 eatery on the London Z-Lister trail.
This weekend Mr Kleftiko and his wife Aphrodite spoke of their devastation at having to effectively deconsecrate the Amy tribute amid bad karma fears from the Doherty hexoplasm.
"Once they were an item, like, skagging and shagging at Amy's Jeffreys Muse - er...Mews! - pad around the corner," Mr K explained.
"Always they come to Costas Taverna after a night out at the Whorely Arms, a mere stoned-throw away as the crow flies....until one day she throw him out.
"Whole of Camden Town knew it was one helluva bad romance so Costas say 'Good riddance to bad rubbish, Mr Doherty'and don't darken my doorstep ever again.
"Sadly our Amy she never came back."
The price of a standard Doner - including salad, pickle, sauce and bit of fingernail - remains a very competitive £3.50p.
