I actually have a nephew on the autism scale who would love nothing more than to be a garbage collector. He's been obsessed with them since the age of 2 and he's now 9 years old. He walks around family events and collects peoples plates and throws them away, whether you want him to or not.

'I loved watching the rubbish get chewed up by the crushing mechanism'

Hmmmm. Now what does that remind me of...?

This guy was on Salvage Squad a few years back, having that dustcart renovated.
It was actually bloody harrowing. Even Suggs relentless cheeriness couldn't paper over the sheer emptiness of this guy's life and the horrible loneliness lurking at the centre of his being. Eventually, even Suggs went quiet.

I'm on the scale myself, and it sticks out more sometimes. Poachers, gamekeepers etc.

You Halifax Nova Scotia or Halifax Yorkshire?

Just askin'

Only I was once in a boozer in Hebden Bridge and had a lovely evening with a load of mad Yorkshire chaps. By God the beer flowed.

Also spent the night stranded at Hartshead Services once, by Brighouse.

Some lovely people there.

And I'm a Lancastrian.

One of my favourite places is York.

Don't know why I'm telling everybody this.

I'm probably a bit pissed.

Oh, bollocks...

Skoob.

Skoob, I live in Hebden Bridge.
I don't usually own up to that, because usually eager Hippies then ask me about Hippy stuff.
I don't like organic food, or fairtrade clothing, or effing clogs or dreamcatchers or hemp or outdoor bloody jazz festivals.
I just live there because someone gave me a job there.
I like reading tool catalogues.

mind you, some good pubs.

Hebden Bridge, a drugs town with a Tourist Problem

quite.

Tell you what mate,

If you stand on that main road through Hebden Bridge on a sunny day, it's a beautiful place to be.

The people are great too.

And that's from a Lancastrian.

Sincerely

Skoob.

Yes, it's a pretty town, the hills are beautiful, and the folk are friendly. The Trades club is top.

Alas, the road sign on the way out now says

"That was so Hebden Bridge"

why? why do that? This is Yorkshire. Have some pride.

Which bit of Lancs, by the way? I have family on the wrong side of the big hills.

I lived and worked in York for five years great people from God's own county. Always interested me that in Hebden Bridge and other places in that area the mortar was really clean but the bricks grubby grubby. Must have been something to do with the smoke. Same with the village where they filmed last of the summer wine.

We're all on the spectrum Dr. J - I like tool catalogues too - not to extremes but they're neat particularly old ones from Buck and Hickman.

Tool Catalogues.

Putzmeister have some really great pumps.

I bought two SP11 BBRs the other week. They get delivered soon, can't wait.

They have a lifting mixer, regulated water feed, integral pressure washer and everything.............

I like Burnley. Burnley reminds me of Sheffield. That's high praise from me.

I like the way the football ground is in the middle of the town, and appears unchanged since 1976.

I bet you can get a good Tool catalogue in Burnley.

There's a good petrol mower shop.

Bloody hell, I sound like the dustcart bloke!
