IH, best of luck with your bottom op.

I was in hospital once, in fact it is my earliest memory.

I remember seeing a very bright light and hearing the words "Congratulations Mrs Birbee, it's a boy"..............

IH,

I'm very sorry to hear this news. Hope you recover quickly. I'm sure you will!

You must have missed the bit where they said..'at least we think so - give it a couple of days and this type of thing usually sorts itself out. Meanwhile why not call it something nice and neutral like Jules although there's no hurry.'

UPDATE: Apparently, my operation will be in the summer. Today was to fix the time for the operation.

Nonetheless, it was unnerving to see the front page of the Guardian (I had bought it after I saw the doctor) say 'GPs Say That Operations May Be "Rationed"'.

Also, before I went there, 'Medicating' played on the car radio. It's a song about a man who killed his wife and ends up in hospital with 'white walls and endless halls' because he chopped off his own hands. Yeah, that's my taste in music.

But the operation will be in the summer, either during July or August.

DO NOT READ ON IF YOU DON'T CARE

Also, apparently its a gut infection.

Don't worry. I had an operation a few years ago and they give you lovely drugs, so you won't know a thing about it.

Thank you all. I am on NHS, so that means I'll be fine. The NHS is the 15th-best healthcare system in the world. (USA is the mid-30s - lotta catching up to do!)

Aw! The waiting is the worst. Keep writing to keep you mind off your bottom.

Mind you I work with some people who 'talk out of theirs' LOL
