I hope you enjoyed your crow.

Crow does not fare well with cebollas; I prefer it in spicier Southwestern cuisine.

Feliz cumpleaƱos, guey!

JO,

The job search is still going on. I got laid off by my company as part of the economy (they blamed it on that). Basically, they laid off everyone at my level making more than 40,000 a year and replaced them with someone making 26 to 28 a year and a minimum wage kid. This way, they are getting the work of two people out of the salary of one (but are losing the experience).

Anyway, I'm searching for work still but am living in a bad part of the country for finding something with good pay.

J-Man

It's not all doom and gloom mate. Try pole-dancing. I hear that pays well.

Spare a thought for me mate. At 5:30 am GMT tomorrow morning I'll be freezing my butt off on a train station platform waiting for the train to take me to work. I'll get back home at about 7:45 in the evening.

Also I just got off the phone with my step-daughter who lives about 80 miles east of us, and it's snowing again where she is, so it looks like it might make its way over here.

As Abel might say

Hasta la heatwave.

Solidarity JP, I've been there too, 49 out of work and too fucking expensive, tell me about it.

My wife and me were forced into self-employment (she's much younger than me BTW) and never looked back since.

Most important is to fight the system with all of the tools available, even bent one's!

Hope you had a good birthday, how's the unemployment benefit situation in the US?

At least we can all still have a laugh,

Monty Python's "you lucky bastard" sketch sums it up!

No thanks Philbert.

I'm going outside and sit in my armchair demanding that the snow keep back.

Like that King Canuck or whatever his name was.

We had three people (three different states) join us from the US because of the layoffs there.

Hello Skoob,

I've identified the reason you English Folks are getting so much snow. It all in the methodology you present. In your case you were making Demands.

Just yesterday, after 12" of that lovely white stuff had graced us in NEPA, I hollered at the Heavens; "Don't ya think that's quite enough?"

A magical voice manifested itself: "why don't you just Command it to stop! Works great for me from up here".

I issued the Command and the lovely white flakes stopped coming down altogether.

Now that's no lie at all. The song done by Tommy Makem (God rest his immortal Soul) sums it up well.

At your Command,

Jim

Sorry I'm late. Right!

Aaargh!

Don't mention the war.

We get snow here.

If things don't start improving.... etc. etc.

My internet connection was fucked.

No, that's not a popular past time out here during the long winter months. Only just been able to get online again.

This never happened during the war.

Happy birthday J-man. 49! Wow, there are some real old timers on here!

Trolls? Rhymes with dolls. And they live underground. The trolls. Not the dolls.

Have a great holiday.

We got 24-40 inches, which is a lot of snow for the Middle Atlantic states.
