I love a good read, anything will do. Fiction/non fiction, any category.

Reading a crime novel at the moment by Michael Marshall, read one recently by William Landay, and I've got a few ready to go.

I really struggled reading Stephen King's 'Lisey's Story' and 'Duma Key' - haven't finished either one yet. They seem to go on and on without getting a grip on the reader.

If anyone out there has any recommendations I'll make a note of them and give them a try.

But no Dan Brown please.

I've recently read Pearl Harbor and Days of Infamy (both by Newt Gingrich and William Forstchen. They give a lot of background on why Japan felt the need to enter WWII and the conditions of their military, their culture, and their attitudes. Though they are fictional accounts and play the "what if" card, both are well researched and enjoyable.

They tell almost everything from the point of view of three different characters: an American naval officer, a British agent, and a Japanese pilot.

Good stuff

Skoob, there is a set of five mysteries by Anne Perry about England in World War One. Each is a mystery on it's own but the five complete the war.

They are fiction based on fact. I started these and couldn't wait until the next came.

Isn't that book the one Sympathy for the Devil by the Stones is supposed to be based on?

The best book you can read - and the only book you should read - is the sacred HOLY BIBLE.
I prefer mine in parchment and illustrated by 8th century island monks but the ones you get in hotel rooms are fine.

It informs my every thought and gesture. Indeed today it told me what to wear to the shops:

So, as you can guess, I wore a giant flower.
