I have turned down a CBE for my part in bringing the Olympics to London.
being elected as Mayor of London by the people and the £138,000 salary is an honour enough for me.

Having any politician given an honour like this devalues the achievements of the athletes. I bet Boris and his chum Dave wil accept a CBE, an OBE or an MBE once they have left office, just as Cherie Blair has accepted a CBE for her 'charity work'.

I tell you what Cherie, I'll give a fiver to charity if I never have to read about youor ee your face in my morning newspaper again!
