Ed Miliband - My Fake Diary
Thursday, 2 August 2012
Interesting article in the Prudential website today:
"Many people in retirement would rather be labelled grey panther than old age pensioner, according to new research. Politicians like Ed Miliband are hurting the sensibilities of over-65s by referring to them as 'the elderly', a study from MGM Advantage showed.
Some 97% of senior citizens are against the term 'elderly', with 'retired person' and 'silver surfer' among the preferred references. Over-65s living in the south-west and Yorkshire would rather be dubbed 'retired' than 'senior citizens', while a large number of over-65s wish to be described as 'grey panthers'.
Well I'll make a note of that, and I've been worrying about the unemployed!
