Boris Johnson - My Fake Diary

Friday, 10 August 2012

Alan Cochrane, Scottish Editor for the Telegraph, sent me an email complaining about a London bus driver who refused to take a Scottish £5 note.

I returned the message: 'I had sent a note to the transport department to "remind all drivers operating out of the bus garage of this route that Scottish bank notes are legal tender to ensure this does not happen again."

The fact that he was from the Telegraph had no bearing on the issue of my returning a personal message, and I'd like to thank the other 84 people who had informed me of similar incidents they had surrered for letting me know.
