An American friend told me Ebonics is taught in some schools.

Does a simlar thing occur in the UK?

Hmmm.....I haven't heard that in a long time. I actually don't think it's officially taught here in the states. However, I might be wrong.

Well he was from Minnesota so he may have meant Norwegian.

Is there a difference?
