He just crashed out, right at the end of 3rd practice.
Hope they can put his car back together again before qualifying. I like the way the wheels seem to explode when they hit the walls. Noticed Kobayashi's do that in 2nd practice too. I wonder if it's coz they're made of magnesium alloy. Does magnesium work like that? |

Pure magnesium smoulders when exposed to air. If you put it in water, it explodes.
The alloy is light, strong under pressure, and durable, but it doesn't handle impact very well. Most often if memory serves, it's alloyed with aluminium. As such, it's brittle, like a lighter version of cast iron. Regards Skoob. |

Vettel on pole again.
Rats. I hoped McLaren were going to be good at Canada. Rubbish. |

Alonso looking menacing too. Looks as if Ferarri and Merc have outgunned the Macs on updates for Montreal. However...
Lewis and Jense have a decent car under them in race rather than quali trim, though it does look as if they've made a cock-up on gearing for seventh... Rain and Safety Car could still play a big part in today's race and turn the starting grid titzoop... hope so! |

Yeah, my fingers are crossed for rain and safety car too.
I seem to recall hearing Whitmarsh say they'd gone for a wet setup. Probably just trying to appease the sponsors for being woefully slow (if a few hundred milliseconds can be so called). Anyway, hope it pays off for them. |

Will be hard to distinguish the race from everyday Montreal drivers.

Right.
I'm going to go against all my instincts and watch this. If it's shit, I'm blaming you three, and I'll be suing for compensation. Regards Skoob. |

I hope it works out for you Skoob.
It's hard to get really enthused off the back of one race. A bit like watching a football match when you're not a supporter of either team. If you find the commentary's a bit dull, go on the red button and pick the Radio 5 commentary. I find the TV commentary better this year, but the radio boys get more excited. I guess because they've got to convey more passion to people who can't actually see what's happening. Pick a couple of drivers to support during the race, just in case one crashes out. Here's hoping it is an exciting one. I've not been disappointed yet this season. Well, actually, that's a big whopper. I've been disappointed lots of times, but never bored. ![]() |

Yup. I always red button Crofty and Ant for the qualis and race - tho' Ant is currently setting lap records and is in 2nd place at Le Mans 24 so won't be there today.
Skoob, look at for shenanigans at the start and keep an eye out for Kamui 'Kamikaze' Kobyashi - always worth the entrance fee! Another to watch out for is 3rd Brit Paul Di Resta (despite the name he's a Scot) who is absolutely stuffing his respected team-mate Adrian Sutil in this his rookie year. If he can make the top 10 (points) at the finish, then 'the lad done well'. Oh - and the 'Wall of Champions' coming into the straight usually claims a coupla cars. Gentlemen... start your engines.... |

God job I'm Sky+ing the footy....
Taps foot... It's quite interesting really. I have watched F1 before, but at one point it got deathly dull, with every race being a procession. I'm rooting for the Japanese bloke in this... Regards Skoob. |

Y'mean Kamikaze.... the one I mentioned in me post?
Always good copy, young Kamui. Did you see Antonio Liuzzi mincing down the pitlane back to his car like a Neapolitan tart? Hehe... |
