The little word "Eh" has just officialy become the most widely used word on The Spoof forums. It has just passed the words "Oh" and "Ah."

I know I used it a lot when I lived in Middlesbrough and I still do when I go back.

It is also well used in certain parts of Canada but tends to be pronounced 'ey' (difficult to type the pronunciation) but there IS a subtle difference.

Also, best way to tell a Canuck from a Yorkshire person.

We have 2 Canucks in our family, one true Canuck, born here,
the other just has the accent and the Citizenship card.

To be honest, I can't say I have ever heard either of them use the word eh? They're both into 'like' at the end of every 3 or 4 sentences.

The only time I notice it is when an American makes an effort to try and be Canadian.

I resemble that.

Though, I must say, when I visit my cousins over in St. Clair Beach,Ontario, the two letter non-word is as common in conversation as "Ya-Know" is in the States.

And still, Doc, I love you man.

I recall "Say-what?" was a popular response to whatever I said in fast food joints in Chicago.

...now it's "hands up!"

...or more recently "FOOD FIGHT!"
