Actually, I know for a fact that the chain of stores was really intended to be:

Victoria's Secretions - but the first sign-writer fell of his ladder after painting 'Victoria's Secret...." He was rendered unconcious and then went into a coma for 3 years.

Publicity personnel decided, on seeing the title, that Victoria should have more than ONE secret because that would be too boring...and so they added the 's'.

When he came out of his coma....it was too damned late...the deed was done and he was sooooooo upset that he hit himself on the head with a bed-pan and went straight back into a coma....where he resides today.
