Yes and no. Yes, because you can catch fish. And no, because you can not catch fish. Sometimes.
So, I think, that fishing is good, because there are fish, and No, because, sometimes, there are not fish. If there are fish, it is fishing. If there are not fish, is it fishing without fish? And if so, is that fishing?

I am not a doctor you know.

I've seen pictures of Inuit ladies in the middle of the last century using a metal rod seven feet long with a widened chisel tip to chip through two metres of ice to make a hole for fishing.

Not sure what the men were doing, smoking perhaps.

....hoovering...that's when men do when left to their own devices...
...or was that hovering...as in hovering 'round the barmaid at last call...

Using a hoover instead of a rod when fishing. It would also help towards keeping the rivers clean.

...as a famous Canadian fishing guide told me as he prepared to set off
2 sticks of dynamite in a pristine pond..."are you goin' fish or just
Fuck around!"

That's how you get kippers, Doc.

Unless it's just a red herring.
