The Irish council of Saints and Eurovision winners issued a statement today in an attempt to address public concerns about the health of Ireland's Cinderella Saint, St Brigid.
St Brigid has been one of Ireland's most successful Saints to date so far, with everything from roads, wells and crucifixes named in her honour all over the island of Ireland but has never quite managed to achieve the same level of worldwide fame and popularity that fellow countryman St Patrick has enjoyed through the centuries.
Fr Anthony Maher, the councils top medium speaking on Joe Duffy's "Liveline" radio programme on RTE1 assured worried St Brigid fans that all was well.
"Saint Brigids well. I spoke to her late last night and she seemed in great form, she say's she's looking forward to the next feast day and promises all her fans that this one will be the best one yet.
So just keep putting the money in the basket, make like a flock and stop asking stupid questions."
