Controversial artist Damien Hirst has today unveiled his most expensive piece to date, a diamond encrusted sculpture of Victoria Beckham's head worth 50 to 90 million.
The (unusually) grinning face of Victoria is covered completely in thousands of priceless diamonds and the piece actually weighs in at a whopping 63 pounds, which is exactly the same weight as Victoria herself.
The piece, which Damien was commissioned to sculpt by David Beckham as a consolation surprise for Victoria following her disappointment at not being granted the status of "Lady" by the Queen, has been christened "For the Love of God" by the artist.
Apparently that's the comment he made to his assistant the day he received the call from the Beckhans commissioning the piece. Followed closely by "certainly, sir" when the budget was revealed.
The piece can be viewed by the public for a brief period of time before Victoria reconstructs it into a tasteful lavatory brush holder for Beckingham Palace.
Damien commented, "I got sick of doing Vanessa Feltz sawed in half, I'm going upmarket now."
