Art Student, Brian Ryan, was celebrating a stroke of good fortune today as his fridge has been selected as a possible entry into next year's prestigious Turner Prize.
Brian told our Arts correspondent:
"I was a bit stuck as I hadn't handed in a project for part of one of my modules so I just took a snap of the inside of my freezer with my mobile phone.
There was nothing in there to eat so I thought I'd give the shot a fancy title and called it 'Hunger'. Next thing I know I'm being told it's a highly symbolic image and that they'd like to enter it for the prize competition"
Randall Poncer of the prize committee told us:
"This work makes me want to weep! Its depth! Its poise and maturity just tugs at my heart. Brian has captured something here and I think in much the same way that people go to view the great images around the world, then they too will be looking at Brian's freezer in centuries from now"
Brian has been offered £40,000,000 as an advance for poster and general merchandising rights.
"You should see the freezer now! There's so much grub in there that we can't get the flaming door closed" chuckled a clearly delighted Brian.
