According to the latest news coming out of California, Rodney King, who was awarded nearly four million dollars by jurors almost 20 years ago, is getting married to one of the jurors.
Most people remember the horrible pics of policemen beating King that was caught on film and the acquittal of all police officers in a trial later on.
After all the policemen were declared innocent, a riot broke out on the streets of Los Angeles, leaving 55 people dead and thousands injured.
Many have speculated that the Rodney King trial helped influence the O.J. Simpson trial years later.
Now King and Cynthia Kelley, one of the jurors that awarded King 4 Million dollars in a civil court, are getting hitched.
"She's the most important person in the world to me", King told reporters Thursday. "We have been seeing each other for a long time and it's time for us to get married."
How much does the money mean to Cynthia?
"What money? King has gone through most of it. He still has some problems but I've been there for him all these years and I want to stay there."
As far as "problems" are concerned, Cynthia stated that King had personal problems that led up to that arrest in 1991.
"But you would have troubles too if you had been nearly beaten to death with clubs."
As far as the marriage is concerned, King stated his famous line, "Why can't we all just get along?" Maybe that will be the case in their marriage.
