Last Year's Winner

Skunk Hollow, KY - It was announced today that starting next week, the annual Build a Better Redneck Veehickle Contest will begin. Land and Water Veehickles will be judged on originality, usability, and hillbillity. Entrants using commodes, worn out furniture, and empty beer cans, will be given bonus points. "But don't just throw them on there," said one judge. "Make it seem like it belongs there." RV'ers will be allowed to live in their veehickles throughout the judging process.

Grand prize includes a year's supply of Slim Jims, a two-tier gun rack, and two tickets to the Kentucky Speedway with pit passes; First Prize is a $25 gift certificate to Stubby's BBQ Buffet in Buckville, and 5 Second Place winners will receive free posting of your veehickle photos on the internet. Last year's winners included the Hillbilly Honda complete with Ford rims and built-in deer stand, the Billy Bob Mud 'n Guts Mobile Bait Shop, and Aunt Sissy's '52 Fairlane Mountain Cruiser.

Anyone interested in entering, just stop in at Donnie's BP station at the corner of Highway 45 and Leach Bed Road and pick up an entry form. Winners will be announced on September 5th at the annual Road Kill Picnic in the Park. Water entries will be displayed on Lake Minnischlonga, so bring a rope to tie it up. All other entries will be displayed next to the Robert E. Lee Memorial BBQ Shelter.
