We say goodbye to an American Icon as Mr. Rodgers of Mr. Rodgers' Neighborhood has retired this year after celebrating 45 years in children's television.

Mr. Rodgers first aired in 1963 and soon became famous for his sweaters, blue tennis shoes and mild mannered speech.

A poll made at some point by TheSpoof.com showed that 99% of American children believe Mr. Rodgers to be a hero.

However, 89% of parents believe he is a sick pervert with homosexual tendencies. Regardless, Mr Rodgers will be donating his blue tennis shoes to the Smithsonian Institute, while his sweaters will be sent to Brittney Spears, of whom Mr. Rodgers was quoted as saying: "Little Brittney needs something to cover herself with."

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
