Today the American Asshole Association (AAA) announced that they will be retiring the "The Finger" also known as the bird, and the High sign.
The Finger was first introduced in 1421 in a small village in Ascaraga, Switzerland. It was used by share croppers to show their dislike of "The Man." Nathaniel Adam is thought to be the first person ever to use The Finger.
It was after the local crop owners cut off every finger on both his hands except his middle fingers, that's when local villagers copied the sign in protest of the De-fingering.
"The Finger is just over used, at the stoplight, NASCAR events and Pee-wee baseball games." Said Spud Crowley president of (AAA)
Currently Assholes are looking for a new sign. Techniques like The Moon also known as "Mooning" is thought to be too much for the simple asshole who just wants a quick and simple tool to say their peace.
We asked Crowley if he thought that all assholes nation wide would follow his example. "Well like all assholes there will be a few who won't. But as far as (AAA) is concerned those people will from here on out be known as Pricks." said Crowley.
