Washington DC - (Ass Mess): George W Bush has said he wants £25billion to stop the offensive business of Iraq.
"That's money well spent," Bush said today, "and would go to a damned good cause: me!"
DC sources said today that his remarks are the clearest sign yet that Bush believes the tide is turning in the issue.
His request will be made officially next month after Congress is presented with a final bill with the almost blank check made payable to a numbered account in the Cayman Islands.
White House spources said today that the timing suggests the President is expecting good news.
However, some in DC have said this strategy is controversial but that they expect it "just needs more time for maximum impact."
Mr Bush believes the endorsement of his suggestion will make it virtually impossible for Democrats on Capitol Hill to reject his demand.
The Pentagon has already allocated that sum for "contingencies" but delayed including the cost of the Alaskan Corrupt Bastards Club litigation because officials did not know how long it would last.
"£25 billion - that's nearlt US$ 50 billion - could be money very well spent."
