Marshaltown Iowa, a woman was caught red handed stealing three rolls of toilet paper from the local courtroom. The woman is facing three years incarceration for the crime.
Employees at the courthouse noticed they were going through an inordinate amount of toilet paper and started a sting operation call "papergate" watching for any unusual goings on in the bathroom. One volunteer disguised herself as a trash can and monitored toilet paper activities in the john.
Suzanne Marie Butts was observed stuffing her jacket with three rolls of Government issue toilet paper and was arrested on the spot on suspicion of misappropriating county property.
Police later searched Ms Butts home and found cases of toilet paper, grosses of toilet brushes and a kitchen full of those little blue toilet cleansers. She also had all kinds of toilet seats, a different one for each day of the week.
One of the strangest cases we've ever seen said Marshaltown police chief, this woman didn't stop at toilet paper she ran the entire bathroom product gamut.
Butts lawyer said he thought his client was getting the shitty end of the stick.
