Ten Republican candidates for the Presidential nomination of the Grand Ole Partay debated in the hallowed halls of the Ray-Gun Library. Each campaigner payed deference to President Ray-Gun, so much so that it seemed like the actor was still President and the unmentioned Idiot was not.
When the issue of the war in Iraq came up, the candidates sounded just like the double-speaking twenty mule-team Borax pitchperson Republicans still love. In fact, it seemed like Death Valley Days was just what these politicos were choosing.
All agreed that an horrendous number of mistakes have been made in the Bush war in Iraq."Terribly mismanaged"said McCain. I. Hart Huckabee proclaimed: "Real error in judgement!" In a bizarre replay of VietNam, all Ten little Republicans spouted the same save face, one more chance, we can't run rhetoric that got almost 60,000 US soldiers killed in Southeast Asia.
Later in the debate the unanimous supporters of mass murder in Iraq and anywhere else US troops attack reversed their genocidal ways to protect unborn and unwanted American fetuses."Let them live," they pleaded, "at least until they are old enough to die in our wars of imperialism!"
