Mad Magazine mascot Alfred E. Neuman has agreed to buy The Washington Post for $237, Katharine Weymouth, the newspaper's publisher announced today.

The WaPo sale comes as a shock to the newspaper industry and few real people knew it was even for sale, the newspaper reported.

DC Comics, owner of Mad Magazine won't have a role in the transaction, and Neuman will be the sole owner and new Publisher, according to the press release.

Mr. Neuman has appointed Clark Kent to supersede the current Washington Post editor Marcus Brauchli, the newspaper reported.

"The content will remain unchanged and will continue to be the most widely read comic book in the USA", Neuman added.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
