The National Optometric Association announced today that actor Zach Galifianakis' name will replace the current eye test chart hanging on the walls of eye doctor offices across the country.
"Patients were getting bored reading lines like LPEDPECFDEDFCZP and so on," said Dr. Merlo Wong, an NOA official.
"Zach's name just looks like an eye chart and after several weeks of negotiations, we signed an agreement with him," said Wong.
Both Galifianakis and the NOA declined to say how much the deal is worth, but Wong did reveal that in addition to being paid, the actor will also receive free eyeglass cleaning cloths and vision treatment for the life of the contract.
"He's got some nasty floaters," Wong whispered.
