The sort of calendar a Eurocrat has to search through to find 1st April

On a day traditionally accepted as the one day in the year when the media are allowed to write concocted and totally untrue stories - except of course for the Sun and Star who generally do it 6 days a week all year around - it has turned out a miserable day for newspapers and magazines in the UK.

All the newspapers are being taken to court by a very irate woman from North Cheam who feels that her reputation has been completely soiled.

Mother of three and wife of one, April Fool, is livid at being ribbed and snidely referred to. She decided that when she heard some fat git from somewhere like Leeds on her radio station shouting that "to be taken in by an April Fool means you must be a totally stupid bastard", she hit the roof as she drove over a speed hump at 30mph..

Running a guest house as she does means that she regularly takes in guests, and as far as she can remember, she has never taken in any "totally stupid bastards" in her entire career - excepting a couple of BNP people, a Respect MP and a Labour chap from Gorton near Manchester, all of whom, being politicians, she suspected might be stupid bastards anyway. Well at least the BNP people definitely were.

However, she can definitely confirm that recent visitors such as Reg McEwan from Fyfe, Norma Dimples from Swansea and Mr and Mrs Smith from Liverpool, were certainly not stupid bastards.

She expects to take her case, as well as some clothes in it, to the European Court of Human Rights in order to get all future 1st of Aprils cancelled.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
