David Dimbleby has missed chairing BBC One's Question Time for the first time in more than 15 years after being injured in a "minor farming accident".
The 71-year-old was unloading his bullock using a trailer at his farm in Fuckington, Sussex, when the trailer reared and caused severe bruising to his bullock.
Dimbleby, who remains in hospital for observation, was replaced on the show by John Humphrys.
"I haven't missed a Question Time in over 15 years," Dimbleby said.
"In future I'll get my wife to unload my bullocks. She's great at handling bullocks, she has plenty of experience, I shouldn't have been fiddling with them myself" he added.
The hospital, in Fuckington, has confirmed they are treating Mr Dimbledumbly for a twisted left bullock, after a self administered injury. Mr Dumbledumbly's condition is embarrassing.
