The world of show business went into a blue funk today as news emerged that a Doncaster man was suing 'comedian' Roy 'Chubby' Brown under the Trade Descriptions Act.
"This man bills himself as a comedian," Mr Patrick Bollix, of Doncaster told us. "Which he clearly isn't. Comedians purport to be funny. This man is certainly not funny. He just swears a lot and refers to women as 'split-arses'. Plus he dresses like a proper twat."
'Chubby' Brown, real name, Royston Vasey, as in 'League Of Gentlemen' and a self confessed Middlesbrough supporter was unavailable for comment when we rang him.
Showbiz guru Max Headbloom told us:
"This is a worrying development. If Mr Brown is decided to be unfunny, where will it all end? What will happen to people like Girls Aloud, Beyonce, Emile Heskey and Chris Evans? None of these people do what it says on the tin. But does this make it right for people to take legal action against them?"
We declined to comment.
More as it comes in.
