Skanda Vale, Carmarthenshire - (Karmic Press): Shambo, the sacred bull slaughtered by government officials this week after developing a rare strain of bovine TB, may have had the last, karmic laugh at his executioners.
Monks at the Skanda Vale community in rural Wales where the bull was worshipped have said his culling has probably resulted in a "karmic payback" of the foot and mouth disease outbreak.
Shambo was 'executed' on Thursday despite numerous legal moves to save him.
And now his former keepers have said that they warned Ministry of Agriculture officials of the likely consequences of killing their sacred totem.
"You have unleashed a plague upon yourselves, just like your Christian Bible warned you about.
"First we had the Flood when half this country was nearly washed away.
"Now you interfere with our religion's holy traditions and what happens? The dreaded foot and mouth disease comes to haunt you.
"We are confident a plague of locusts could be next. Followed by famine. And then maybe widespread forest fires, the death of all first-borns and then the return of the Thatcher Government!
"DXon't say we didn't warn you!"
