In a Channel 5 investigative report with journalist Jim Rosenthal, the Ferguson Caucasian police officer, who allegedly shot an unarmed African American teen to death in August, unwittingly admitted his true motive behind shooting the teen.
Rosenthal asked the officer the following question, "Is it possible that the suspect could not drop his gun simply because he did not have a gun?" to which the officer replied, "Impossible. I'm sure to the untrained eye he did not have a gun; however, trained professional police officers like myself can easily tell who has the gun, how he acquired it, and where he is hiding it."
Then, Rosenthal proceeded with his investigative report by taking the officer to a shooting range for a simulated target practice, in which Channel 5 production crew carefully selected photographic images of armed suspects and innocent bystanders. The result was astonishing.
Out of the 11 targets, the Ferguson officer shot 6 targets, of 5 were clearly unarmed, and the other target clearly showing an actor holding a prop weapon from a famous sci-fi movie. All 6 targets shot by the officer were African American individuals including a 4 year old child with water gun.
When asked about his questionable decision making process, the officer pointed at each photographed individual and explained how and where the suspect concealed the weapon.
5 targets that remained unshot were all Caucasian individuals including an armed suspect and a caped KKK official.
The investigative report did not draw a definite conclusion whether the officer's action of shooting the unarmed teen was a conscious decision that was racially motivated. However, the observers could not help but suspect the latent racist nature of the officer was the underlying factor in his decision of the shooting.
