Crocodile Dundee the iconic Australian film star character could have been imagined very differently. For years, writers tried to combine the name of a reptile with a Scottish town to try to form a successful movie idea, but without success.
It was only in 1985 after years of trying that Bruce Brucington thought up the name "Crocodile Dundee", which led to a successful film series.
Now exclusively, we reveal the failed attempted names, which were considered too boring, too random, or just too weird to make into a film.
From a napkin found in a deserted film studio in Canberra, the alternative names for Crocodile Dundee are:
Alligator Dumbarton
Terrapin Peebles
Gecko Cumbernauld
Tortoise Auchtermuchty
Turtle Falkirk
