Hollywood agents and Lloyds of London today got themselves in a right old tizzy when 'Vampire Diaries' star Ian Somerhalder almost tripped up as he moved from his Hollywood lounge to the kitchen area to prepare a cup of iced tea.

Initial reports suggest that Somerhalder wasn't really looking where he was going as he moved between rooms because he was preoccupied watching an episode of NYPD Blue in HD on a plasma screen TV when he became distracted and almost tripped over a pair of discarded jeans, which momentarily became entagled around his ankles.

Almost causing him to lose his balance.

Thankfully, Somerhalder survived his ordeal by way of a quick two footed shuffle, narrowly averting serious injury.

"By heck," he told reporters later. "I could have come a proper cropper there had I not had me wits about me. Innit."

Distraught Vampire Diaries co-star, Nina Dobrev, was said to be too upset to comment.

"We just thank the good Lord that Ian's okay," a concerned and obviously upset spokeswoman told reporters, as she mugged into a TV camera with feigned concern. "Almost tripping over a pair of loosely discarded jeans is one of the most unimaginable things that could ever happen to a young man with his whole life ahead of him. It's almost as bad as banging your head on a cupboard door."

Personally, here at Skoob Entertainment News we think it's all a right load of old bollocks.

But we'd never come out and say that in public.

More as we get it.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
