Not only are Bert and Ernie gay, so are their voices!
Although denied by PBS for many years now, the two puppets, Bert & Ernie are finally ending the rumors by getting married this week in California.
Not only that, but their voices, Sammy Elliot and Ronnie Day are also getting married.
According to Bert, he and Ernie were just good friends, exactly like what had been announced by PBS, after all the accusations in the 1990's.
"Actually, we had never discussed it but all those people pointing out how we seemed to be a gay couple, one day Ernie told me, "Maybe we are!" That was when we began moving the separate beds together to make one big bed!"
"That's true", stated Ernie. "The people reminded us that 'Bert and Ernie' are two grown men sharing a house and a bedroom. They share clothes, eat & cook together & have blatantly effeminate characteristics. They teach each other how to sew and grow plants', and it was true!"
"We are not sure what day it will be. It's according to the judges and numbers of people popping up."
As far as Sammy and Ronnie?
"Yeah, we're getting hitched also. As far as the show, we were also back behind the stage with one hand always free and things just sort of happened", stated Sammy (Bert).
