TV football pundit and former England international Gary Lineker been embroiled in allegations of having an affair with someone he has never seen. The lusty behaviour occurred last year while wife Danielle was having cosmetic surgery in Hungary.
"Danielle was over in Hungary getting her teeth sorted. We were apart for three weeks and the surgery meant Danielle couldn't even talk on the phone so I took up CB-radio as a hobby. I met a fellow CB-er, a woman I think, on 27.8 Mhz FM and we just clicked. I couldn't resist the way she said 'breaker,breaker, come on'", Gary told chat show king, Johnathon Ross on his BBC radio show yesterday.
The affair became quite intense for a brief while and even involved CB-sex over the airwaves. Lineker wouldn't be drawn on the details but he did say that it involved a lot of 'squelching', another CB term.
No one has heard from the CB enthusiast at the centre of the storm who has the handle 'TubbyLardMomma'.Handles are nick-names used by CB radio users. Lineker's handle was 'Allears'.
Walkers, with whom Linkeker has a multi-million pound contract promoting snacks and crisps could not be contacted but my mate down the pub said, "The board of Walkers want to wash their hands of Gary, especially since it involved CB radio which is synonymous with the 1980's and Walkers want to be seen as a company of the future."
One member is reported to have said that if only Gary had used an iPad things may not have looked so bad for his sponsorship relationship.
Lineker is said to have been worried about using modern communications since.
"It appears that nothing is safe anymore. Emails are being compromised, phones and mobiles tapped and even my pay-per-view bills have been stolen from my wheelie bin. The anonymity of the medium really appealed to me but I am truly sorry for hurting Danielle, whom I love dearly. We are attending reconciliation counselling to help put this behind us and I have sold my CB radio equipment to John Terry (Chelsea and England).
