In a rambling new book which will probably be entitled "Studio Head", producer Jon Peters claims that Barbra Streisand has had several nose jobs but that now she's afraid of the "Michael Jackson" look.
The book is shocking many getting the previews, about Streisand's alleged molestation by movie mogul Roger Stark, before her breakthrough movie, "Funny Girl", and also that Peter's ex-wife, Leslie Ann Warren had had a round with Stark.
The explosive allegations against Stark, who prior to his death in 2004 was one of the most influential producers in motion picture history, are contained in Peters' memoir which has been purchased by Harper-Collins Publishers for a reported $US875,000.
As far as the nose is concerned, according to a Harper-Collins insider who has read large sections, Streisand had a huge honker when she started out and, compared to it, today's version is small.
She eventually was sent to the very best plastic surgeon of his day, Larry Bateman, but eventually even Bateman was forced to enlarge the rest of her face to make today's version look as it does.
"Everyone loved her voice but they had trouble with the nose. If she didn't sleep with one of those mask things, she'd bring the chandelier off the ceiling in the dining room."
The 74-year-old Bateman doesn't deny doing the job because "I think her nose today is sexy!"
